The Department of Artificial Intelligence at IIT Hyderabad has had a productive spring semester, with faculty and students contributing to cutting-edge research across multiple areas.
Publication Highlights
Our faculty and students have published papers at some of the most prestigious venues in AI and Machine Learning:
- ICML 2026 — 3 accepted papers on topics ranging from causal inference to efficient transformer architectures
- AAAI 2026 — 2 papers on multi-agent reinforcement learning and AI safety
- NeurIPS 2025 — 4 papers including spotlight presentations on privacy-preserving machine learning
New Research Collaborations
The department has established new collaborations with:
- Google DeepMind — Joint research on foundational models for low-resource languages
- Microsoft Research India — Collaborative work on responsible AI deployment
- DRDO — Applied AI for defence applications
Infrastructure Updates
The department's GPU cluster has been upgraded with 4 new NVIDIA H100 nodes, significantly boosting our capacity for large-scale model training and experimentation.
